'Where Did All The Flowers Come From' is a short, humorous, one Act Play, set at a graveyard on the Isle of Arran in south west Scotland. It was part of a series of Plays published under the title, 'Arran Dramas' in 2017, and was designed to be performed by any local theatre group who might wish for some local material to perform.
Rhona, the half-sister of her younger siblings, Vicky and Mary, agree to meet at the graveyard, on the first anniversary of when their mother was laid to rest.
They had agreed to visit together, as each felt unable to visit the graveside on their own, since that day. On approaching the grave, they find they are not the only ones to have been visiting. A battle of wills and intellect ensues, to establish just exactly what has been going on.
About the Play
'Where did all the flowers come from' is written by Gordon MacLeod. Who lived on the Island of Arran. His play is based in Arran which has a very rich heritage of the performing arts, particularly Drama that is still going strong to this day in the form of an inter-villages drama competition and festival each winter on the island. Gordon hopes his play is a small way of paying back to the island and its people, much of what it gave to him throughout his childhood and informing much of the ideas and inspiration for his writing.
